WHFF Virtual: Toprak

The Woods Hole Film Festival season series WHFF Virtual presents the award winning narrative feature, TOPRAK, including an online Q&A with the filmmakers on Saturday, April 10 at 7pm EST.

ABOUT THE FILM:
TOPRAK is the dramatic story of a simple family in rural Turkey dealing with poverty, family traditions, and religious heritage. Since the death of his parents, the teenage Burak has lived with his uncle Cemil and grandmother in a remote Turkish village. The small family unit has been trying to make a living by selling fruits. While the religious Cemil is satisfied to live his life in poverty, Burak struggles to leave for the city and attend university. When grandmother falls sick, both Burak and Cemil have to make tough decisions that will change their lives forever. (Available to watch in the USA only.)

For the best community viewing experience, we recommend starting the film at 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 10 and then joining WHFF Executive Director Judy Laster and the filmmakers for the Q&A on Zoom at 7:00 p.m. EST.

The film will be available to watch between Thursday, April 8 at 8am and Sunday, April 11 at midnight EST. If you purchase a ticket in advance you will receive an activation link to view the film via e-mail on Thursday morning, April 8. If you purchase a ticket on or after April 8 you will receive a watch link immediately after your order confirmation. A free ticket to the virtual Q&A will be made available when you purchase your ticket. A separate access link for the Q&A will be e-mailed to you approximately one hour before the start of the event. Once you start playing the film you will have 48 hours to finish watching, or until midnight on Sunday, April 11, whichever comes first.
